Since October 7th 2024 when Hamas attacked Israel as a retaliation to Israel’s ever-expanding occupation of Palestine, Israel has been attacking Gaza, a small area within their occupied territory of Palestine. Until now Israel was able to do this without a wider response. The case is not the same at the Northern border where the world’s largest non-state actor ‘Hezbollah’ is waiting to respond to any further provocations. Hezbollah wants peace in the region and has agreed to a complete ceasefire in the North of Palestine if Israel makes a ceasefire in Gaza. It seems that Israel does not want peace and is constantly causing disruption to any possible cease-fire deal. Hence, a full-scale war with Hezbollah seems much closer. A full-scale war will surely involve other players in the region and all of the Middle East will feel the heat. It can even go further beyond the Middle East if it is not contained effectively.

Israel is bombing Lebanon with airplanes. It killed a senior Hezbollah commander recently which has angered Hezbollah.

Multiple times Hezbollah has fired rounds of rockets into Northern Israel which has caused forest fires and also caused some casualties. Israelis are scared and a lot of people have moved away from their Northern areas.

Another group – the ‘Houthis’ in Yemen are also showing support to Gazans. They fired a drone from Yemen which passed through Israeli air defenses and hit near the American Embassy in Tel Aviv. This killed a man and injured a few. In its response, Israel sent 20 fighter jets to Yemen and bombed its targets in the port city of Hodeida. 3 people have been killed and more than 80 are injured. The Houthi’s top negotiator said that the strike would not stop Houthis from targeting Israeli cities and ships.

Israel is being confronted at three fronts: Palestinians in Gaza, Hezbollah in its Northern Border, and Houthis from the sea in the South.

Each day brings a new turn of events. Any time these events can escalate into a full-blown war. According to many analysts a full-blown war will be most damaging to Israel.
